Energizing Young Voters’ Scholarship is a Non-Partisan Initiative of the League of Women Voters of New Jersey & The Schmiedel Family Foundation Scholarship

The ideal applicant should be a high school senior passionate about the importance of taking part in our democracy. They should be engaged in community and academic efforts to advocate the importance of voting to their generation as well as to friends and families of all generations.

     *  This year there will be nine awards of $1500, with one exception.  The exception is that if a group of students chooses to present the module called “Voting Simulation,” winners will be awarded a $5000 scholarship to share.

     * Submission deadline is May 1, 2026.
